
Florence is a historic city and in time there are many libraries that have been opened for the city.
Some of these have the wide spaces for children with books, games and activities, reading aloud

The Oblate Library is a public library, which opened May 25, 2007, in the center of Florence a few steps from Piazza Duomo, housed in the impressive fourteenth-century former convent of the Oblate Sisters from which it draws its name. The first floor has an entire wing dedicated to children with many events for them. Do not miss the top floor overlooking the Duomo BAR!

The library is specialized for children aged 2 to 16 years. The assets of about 17,000 books, CDs, video and comics, 4000 language books, as well as manuscripts of the tales collected since 1990 for the literary prize “Witch of Hackberry”. Library books are available to readers and readers on open shelves.
